"Bushakevitz's playing gleams with understated wit and sensuality –
a catalogue of emotions"

KUNSTLIED ALS KURZFILM: HEINE'S EUROPE
In collaboration with the baritone KONSTANTIN KRIMMEL, this is a project together with the Deutscher Musikrat and NEUSTART KULTUR. Together with leading broadcasters, the producer Michael Schetelich and the narrator Maren Ulrich, the project aims to document the musical influence of Heinrich Heine (1797-1856), his search for identity a Jewish convert to Christianity, and his self-exile as a German in Paris, his adopted homeland.

LES VOIX D'ORPHÉE: INTERNATIONAL NON-PROFIT ASSOCIATION
Les Voix d'Orphée is a registered international non-profit association based in Paris, France. It was conceived by soprano LAETITIA GRIMALDI, Ammiel Bushakevitz and Cécile Andries with the aim of extending the influence of music and arts internationally at different levels: Education and intercultural projects, gender equality for forgotten composers, and the sponsorship of music in developing countries, such as South Africa and Zimbabwe.

A very special pianist – Bushakevitz is a master of expression. His playing is filled with a sense of longing and nostalgia.
THE JERUSALEM POST
Bouquets first to Ammiel Bushakevitz, who, undaunted, reeled off 33 of the Mörike Lieder with brilliant composure and unshowy insight. THE TIMES OF LONDON
In the songs of Rachmaninoff the piano writing is often virtuosic and the brilliant Mr. Bushakevitz flew through the difficult passages with panache.
NEW YORK CONCERT REVIEW
about
Born in Jerusalem, Israel, Ammiel Bushakevitz performs regularly across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and Australia; in venues including New York’s Carnegie Hall, London’s Wigmore Hall, the Philharmonie de Paris, Shanghai’s Concert Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Berlin’s Konzerthaus. He appears at the festivals of Aix-en-Provence, Salzburg, Bayreuth, Lucerne, Cape Town, Heidelberg, Melbourne and Montreal; the Festival Pontino di Latina in Rome, the Casals Festival in Spain and the Schubertiades of Schwarzenberg, Hohenems, Vilabertran and Jerusalem.
One of the last private students of the late Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Ammiel is recognised as a leading song pianist of his generation, performing with such singers as Dame Felicity Lott, Christian Gerhaher and Thomas Hampson. He also received notable mentorship from Brigitte Fassbaender, Barbara Bonney, Thomas Quasthoff and Matthias Goerne.
His discography includes award-winning albums as a soloist and song pianist for BIS (Sweden), Pentatone (Holland), Hänssler Classics (Germany), SOLFA (Spain) and Gramola (Austria). Upcoming releases will appear on labels including Berlin Classics, Hänssler and Harmonia Mundi.
Passionate about education, Ammiel has presented masterclasses at leading universities in Australia, Israel, Spain, China, South Africa, New Zealand and the USA. He also dedicates time to mentoring young musicians in developing countries including Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Mexico and Morocco.
Ammiel is a member of the Société des Arts Sciences et Lettres de Paris, an Edison Fellow of the British Library, London, and artistic director of the International Arts Association, Voices of Orpheus, in Paris, France.

Bushakevitz by no means limits himself to the role of a discreet accompanist in the background. Thanks to well thought-out dosages of expressivity, he sets his own accents, be it beyond the voices or with them. In any case, his playing makes one long for an evening with him as headliner.
WIENER ZEITUNG
With baritone Christian Gerhaher, Salzburg Festival 2022

"As always, Bushakevitz was detailed, nuanced and with great lyrical flair for pieces that require both a display of formal technique and improvisational instinct"
